It takes a community

Personal flowerILL staff spend entire workdays communicating with other library workers all over the country.  We check on availability, license terms, policies, and overdue or missing items.  We’re adept with other libraries’ catalogs and item records, but often we can feel isolated in our own library.

If you’re in the KC area and would like to get to know other ILL people, or maybe even learn some of their tips and tricks for processing ILL requests–we’ve got an unconference for you–and it’s FREE!  We welcome any library staff members who facilitate interlibrary loan, document delivery, and other resource sharing activities at their library.

Please click HERE for more information and HERE to register (or click the links below).

Do share this information with your interlibrary loan staff and with other interested libraries in the area!  Make sure you follow this blog so that you get any important updates.  Contact us by leaving a comment at the end of this blog post or send an email to malaillsig@mid-americalibraryalliance.org   We hope to see you on August 7th at the University of Missouri Kansas City!

About janbrooks1

By day I’m an interlibrary loan specialist who loves to think about all things library–sharing resources, information literacy, and how we play and learn. And when I go home, I am passionate about growing and cooking good food for the ones I love. And quilting.
