Parking for the unConference

what-to-do-clip-art-663651 There’s still time to register for the 2015 Kansas City Area Interlibrary Loan SIG unConference!  We’re so happy to see so many of you registering and making plans to join us at UMKC in Kansas City MO on August 7.  Registration for the unconference is FREE.  So if you haven’t done so already,  register here: or see the link at the bottom of this post.  With one month to go before we assemble, it’s time to start planning a few of the details.

The unconference will take place in the Miller Nichols Library and Learning Center on the UMKC Campus.   View and download the Volker campus map (PDF)

Please note that there is no free parking on campus.  The easiest thing to do is to purchase a one-day visitor parking pass for $7.  You can purchase a one-day visitor pass at the Parking Operations Office in person the morning of the unConference, or you can pre-order by mail. The permit allows you to park in designated permit spaces in any lot on campus and at any meter.

If pre-ordering by mail:  allow 5-7 days or longer for mailing.  So now’s the time to figure out those car pools and get that parking pass!  The SIG Committee urges you to take care of getting your parking pass as soon as possible.

If purchasing in person: go to the Parking Operations Office to get your one-day visitor pass. They are open 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday (closed 1 p.m – 2 p.m.).

Here’s a listing of hotels fairly close to UMKC campus  which would be ideal for visitors looking to spend a night (or two) in Kansas City.  Please contact the individual hotel for current rates and availability.

We’re really excited about meeting all of you ILL people at the unConference!  Please join us.  There’s more information about our day here, or check the link below.

About janbrooks1

By day I’m an interlibrary loan librarian who loves to think about all things library–sharing resources, information literacy, and how we play and learn. And when I go home, I am passionate about growing and cooking good food for the ones I love. And quilting.
